The Home of Poitín

Award-winning Irish cocktails in the heart of Dublin City

Irish to the Core

Staunchly Irish, at BAR 1661 we pay homage to all of Ireland’s native drinks, especially Poitín. Named for the year the once notorious Irish spirit was banned and driven underground in Ireland, our award-winning cocktail bar celebrates Poitín’s place in the modern canon of Irish drinks.

BAR 1661 is independently owned and operated by Dave Mulligan, a passionate man when it comes to Poitín. You’ll find us nestled among the fruit markets in the heart of Dublin 7.
